Weekend of Dave.....

The plane ride, the airport in Newcastle, outside the Newcastle venue after the soundcheck, and then our chinese restaurant in Glasgow......my gosh we just could not escape Dave, he was following us everywhere we went!!! What a stalker! Ha!

Well, so i had visitor's this weekend who were crazy Dave Mathew's fans.....so we had tickets to go to see his solo show in Newcastle and then travelling up to Glasgow to see the next night of his show......and in that span of 4 days that they were here in England, they literally bumped into him (counting on my fingers.........) 5 times, i kid you not!!!!

What are the flipping chances? Ha! We had to be precision stalkers a few years ago just to get my friends picture taken with him, and here he was just galavanting around england with no babysitters or anyone to fend off the random handful of fans who recognized him.

Consequently, my friend got like 5 things signed, and as she chatted with him before their flight, she was able to take a couple pictures with him(for her christmas card again?) and then had to sit the whole plane ride without chatting to him while he sat in the same row across the aisle from them! I think that was her own personal version of torture cuz of course she wouldn't want to act like a crazy fan and chat tons!

He is not known over here at all and no one, except for us, at the airport even blinked when he walked off the plane in Newcastle and wandered over to his bus! I was glad i had randomly brought a DMB cd with me to listen to in the car, and i got that signed. How exciting!

The concert was good, and we met some awesome fans(mainly americans who had travelled far & wide to be there), it's such a warm friendly crowd! During the concert Dave mentioned how he had met two british fans in the Newcastle Starbucks that had taught him to say NEWcastle(heavy on the NEW), their way.....and he practiced over and over during the in-between song bits, and said "hi to Clare & Sasha".....well, turns out, clare was one of the people my friend had met over the DMB forum, so we KNEW Clare too!

We travelled up to Glasgow on the train with Clare the next day, Ha! Small flipping world! She is one of a few British die-hard DMB fans who was introduced to DMB(Dave Mathew's Band) via an american exchange student years ago.......they're infiltrating the world slowly but surely.....
Hehehe

We stayed in a convenient hotel(City Inn) which was right across the street from the venue in Glasgow. We had decided to be lazy and eat at the chinese restaurant across the street cuz we wanted chinese food and ,why not? It's right there, easy peasy.

Walk in the door of the Yen Chinese Restaurant.... we're then shown up the spiral staircase to our table......HELLO! Walk passed Dave & friends without staring(you try that!!!).......in this not-very-busy-at-all restaurant, (oh my god!)..... they've plopped him at the one table that everyone walks past to get to their tables! Ha! We're trying very hard NOT to stand out and stare, and not to be the crazy stalkers who have seen him soooo many times over the past 2 days! Keep telling ourselves: don't stare, don't giggle, don't wet yourself, no more photos!!

Then i started to get angry, why had Dave chosen my chinese restaurant! Ha! Not fair at all! We just wanted to eat in peace, have a nice meal before a lovely concert.....but no! Dave just had to show up! Ha! My friend's tummy was sooo upset cuz she was eating so nearby to him, and we were kinda worried that we were somehow, without realizing it....being stalkers? Can you stalk without trying? ha!

Anyway, long story short.........we didn't even try to stalk him, but Dave kept landing in our laps! The concerts were great! And we met some amazingly fabulous people over the weekend.

The End.......or is it?

Mr Mathews, are you hiding somewhere ready to stalk us again???

What am I listening to?

Well.......i'm currently obsessed with an album that i bought last week and i can't stop listening to it.... over & over, and OVER yet again! I'm loving it! Plus, the funny thing is that it is the first album that i've bought in ages, like seriously in months, at least 6 months, heheh. So i'm very pleased with my random purchase. My impulsiveness finally pays off! Yay!

You know when a song just speaks to you and makes you feel all warm & fuzzy? How cool is it to have a WHOLE ALBUM that does that?! Ha! So i highly recommend that if you like "How To Save a Life", the song by The Fray.... then BUY THE WHOLE ALBUM! Hahahha Cuz it is great! And i promise you will like it if not LOVE it!

So buy it, listen to it, and tell me what you think!!!

And while your at it, check out this local band from Chicago on myspace, they're called Out For Hours, they're great too!!! Really listenable(who's making up words here?) and my friend knows one of the guys in the band, so that's even cooler!! There are some of their songs on the links!! So why not have a listen?!? I could listen to their album many times in a row and not get sick of it! Good stuff!! Altho i haven't been in town yet when they've had a show, boo-hoo! Hopefully I'll get to see them play live sometime!! Maybe they'll come to Newcastle??? Ha!

Cottan Candy.....

Abe Lincoln and I here were only two members of the Cotton Candy Clan who had an unheard of amount of fun with a bag of cottan candy!! WHO KNEW you could have sooooo much fun with fluffy spun sugar, eh?? Ha! Moustaches, beards, eyebrows, and whatnot! It was pretty hilarious, well to us at least! As you can tell, this snap was caught mid-giggle,so i look a bit odd to say the least! It was pretty darn hard NOT to laugh whilst strategically placing sticky cottan candy on yer face!!
What fun!!

Blowing Bubbles at Christmas...

I love gum!

I love bubbles!

I love blowing bubbles!

Hahah!

How old am i you ask? Never you mind!

So, I got some amazing bubble blowing gum in my Christmas stocking this year(Thank you Santa!!) so of course I HAD to test it out! It was pretty difficult to blow bubbles on demand! But i managed in the end of course. Ha! To all bubble-blowers out there, secretly & not-so-secretly blowing HUGE bubbles.....BLOW ON!!!! (and try not to get it stuck to yer nose when it pops!)

Grandpa!

So, i really like this picture of me and my grandpa from last thanksgiving, and I thought it was a nice one to add to fill the gap while i wait for some pics from the recent visit.....ahem.....from someone else! Hahah! My sister took tons of photos, cuz i was being lazy. I haven't been given a copy of them yet, but she is very, very busy!
Oh and those are my old glasses, come to think of it, i didn't really like them so much, i like my new ones much better.
