So how jealous am I of dog owners? How lucky is it to get to take your pet for a wander through a park or other beautiful place of interest(that allows dogs, hehe)?
Don't get me wrong i looooove my kitties, but you can't accompany them on a meandering walk through a forest as they explore it by sniffing and poking around in the underbrush. That's a dog thing.
To be honest, it'd be funny to take my cats out to a nature preserve of some sort, well not so much funny as kinda scary, cuz that'd probably be the last time i saw them! They'd be off like a shot and never return until they were very, very hungry and then if i was lucky they might make their way back to me, although having said that, it's more likely that they'd hunt some poor unsuspecting bird or mouse and eat that! Yes, the furry "bird-killers" as a friend at work calls them, but they can't help it, it's their natural instinct, bless 'em.
So anyway, i had a lovely time today walking through some gorgeous naturey parts of the Chester-le-street area near Newcastle with my friend and her dog Zeus, and what a handsome doggy he is!
